TOTAL: 59.9

The measured value was 59.5 dB(A) LA10,18h, and the calculated value was 59.9 dB(A) LA10,18h. A
difference of up to 2 dB(A) between the measured and calculated values is acceptable to the
Department of Transport and Main Roads. As the calculated value was greater than the measured
value, the adopted current (2021) traffic noise level is 59.9 dB(A) LA10,18h.

Ultimate Traffic Noise Levels

In accordance with current data from the DTMR web site, the following should be noted for Elm Street in
close proximity to the subject site for 2019 (site 21130):

   9591 vpd AADT;
 5.51% CV @ 60 kph.

The estimated annual growth for Elm Street, in the vicinity of the subject site, is 3% and, therefore,
ultimate traffic volumes will be:

    2019 9591 vpd
    2020 9879 vpd
    2021 10175 vpd
    2022 10480 vpd
    2023 10794 vpd
    2024 11118 vpd
    2025 11452 vpd
    2026 11796 vpd
    2027 12150 vpd
    2028 12515 vpd
    2029 12890 vpd
    2030 13277 vpd
    2031 13675 vpd.

This increase in traffic volume will increase traffic noise levels (to 2031) as follows:

 (29.1 + 10 log10 13675) – (29.1 + 10 log10 10175) = 1.3 dB(A).

Therefore, for ultimate traffic volumes, traffic noise levels will be, at Monitoring Location A, at an
elevation of 1.6 m, 59.9 + 1.3 = 61.2 dB(A) LA10,18H, free field.
