REPORT
The purpose of this report is to seek Council endorsement for the continuation of the Go Noosa
peak period traffic management trials for the Easter holiday period from the 6 to 28 April 2019.
At the time of writing this report, the Christmas peak period traffic management trials were still
underway, however to support this report the interim results up to the 20 January 2019 are
described. A further report to Council will be provided following the end of the trial period and
completion of all data analysis.
It is recognised that during the typical Easter holiday period, traffic congestion is a major cause of
frustration to both residents and visitors entering and departing the Noosa Heads area. This year,
weather dependent, we can expect a busy holiday period given the following holidays;
Queensland and Victoria State School holidays are from 6 to 22 April with Easter Monday
falling on the 22 April.
The Anzac Day public holiday is on Thursday 25 April, therefore it is anticipated that
residents and visitors may take advantage of the public holidays during the week of 22 – 28
April.
