Each Eco Cottage will have its own solar and
battery storage located in the carport area.

Homeowners will be able to share solar and
battery storage across the development
minimizing the size of the energy system on each
home, whilst also achieving a net zero energy
footprint and zero power bill (based on energy
consumption constraints).

 

The microgrid will have a single point of
connection to the electricity grid to export
excess power and to back-up the facility up in
times of poor weather conditions.

 

 

The microgrid battery system will also support
water pumps and tank water sprinklers on the
northern side of the development for bushfire
protection. In the event of an emergency the
system can be activated remotely by smart
phone app.

 

 

 

This is an exciting development for Cooroy and will certainly support Noosa Councils target for net zero
emissions by 2026.
