NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRE
The Noosa Plan identifies a number of Neighbourhood Centres which are to provide for the immediate
nearby residents and visitors. There are a number of neighbourhood centres within the LGA including
Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Tewantin, Sunrise Beach, Peregian Beach and Cooroibah.

VISITOR MIXED USE
The Noosa Plan identifies a number of locations for Visitor Mixed Use. These locations are primarily to
support the surrounding residential and recreational development, as well as accommodation facilities.
Retail and commercial uses in these locations are the secondary uses. Development, in locations such as
Noosa Heads, Sunshine Beach and Peregian Beach, is to be integrated with the surrounding primarily
residential and accommodation areas.

3.3 SUMMARY
The key points arising from this section of the report can be summarised as follows:

 The SEQRP identifies a number of types of centres in the urban and rural network of activity centres.
The only PRAC in the Sunshine Coast region is Maroochydore, whilst Noosa is classified as a MRAC.

 The Noosa Plan is the Planning Scheme for the Shire, and this is required to be in line with the
SEQRP. In terms of the centres network, the Noosa Plan outlines the following hierarchy:

     Shire Business Centre

     Business Centre

     Neighbourhood Centre

     Visitor Mixed Use

 The planning framework identified above guides development to consolidate in and around centres,
and to create development which promotes highly accessible centres, as well as the efficient use of
      land and infrastructure.

 The expansion of Noosa Civic is consistent with the role, function and hierarchical status of Noosa
under the SEQRP and the Shire Business Centre under the Noosa Plan.
