Refuse Disposal
Each accommodation unit will be provided with waste receptacles to store at least a day’s worth of waste.
Staff/ cleaners will be responsible for transferring waste from these receptacles into the appropriate bulk
bins within the refuse room located at ground level.

For the café & lounge bar, the number and location of bins provided will be determined during tenancy fit
out and careful consideration should be given to the placement and types of bins to optimise source
separation as outlined. Retail waste will be captured by 30L bins that will be placed within the kitchen or
back-of-house area to meet the design or layout criteria of the cafe or restaurant operators. After each day
of service or between peak operating periods, waste will be transferred by staff to the refuse room and
placed / decanted into the bulk bins.

Cleaner’s trolleys can be used to assist in ease of waste transfer to the bulk bins.



Summary
The proposed refuse storage area for the new hotel accommodates all the equipment required based on a
conservatively high waste generation estimates. The additional refuse generated poses no significant impact
to the existing collection strategy for the development which will continue service as per existing site
conditions. Though there is an increase of waste generated on site, the frequency of waste collection remains
unchanged. Colliers considers the proposed refuse management arrangements within this letter appropriate
for the site to continue to provide safe and efficient operations.
