SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 8 AUGUST 2017

Calculated – The Weighted Aggregated Total Performance Rating is calculated by summarising
all performance ratings of each of the 41 responsibility/service areas into one number weighted
by the relative importance of each area, the Average Total Performance Index (TPI). The total
performance index (TPI) shows how the community judges Council performance as it makes
allowances for the relative importance of each activity. Noosa’s TPI was calculated at 73.24%
which is above LGAQ state and provincial TPIs. Noosa is exceeding the overall average TPI in 4
out of the 5 areas. The exception being basic services/infrastructure (69.91) which is just below
the provincial TPI (69.9%) and LGAQ State (71.82%) (refer to Table 2).

Table 2 - Summary of Performance Indexes

Analysis of Key Results
There are 15 responsibility/service areas (out of the total of 41) for which Council performed best
in relation to their judged importance (refer to Table 3). In this case, ‘best’ is defined as having an
Importance rating of at least 3.96, and Performance more than 1.5% above Average (73.2%).
This list does not include all the Areas where the “gaps are smallest”, as most of these do not
have an Importance score above ‘4’ (the border-line between ‘Important’ and ‘Nice to Have’).
