SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 8 AUGUST 2017
The NAC was constructed with just a single family change room which is now inadequate for
current visitation levels and changed community expectations. The NAC is committed to
exploring the possible addition of a dedicated family change space which would allow families
with young children to get changed in a safe and secure space and eliminate the need for
children to enter a toilet and change facility of the opposite sex.
Gym membership and participation in classes (e.g. boxing, cardio and core, and stretch and
stabilise) have both grown to a level where the ability to conduct classes in the Gym is heavily
compromised. To address these concerns and to be able to provide the Noosa community with a
genuine ‘one stop shop’ for their leisure and aquatic needs, the NAC has commenced preliminary
investigations into the provision of a new group fitness space.
Following further progression of the investigations flagged above the NAC will look to develop a
business case for the proposed initiatives and commence the process of seeking funding.
Beyond this, the NAC is keen to develop a facility masterplan to clearly plot out further
improvements over the next 10 years.
There are no capital works planned for the NAC in 2017/18 and therefore there will not be any
distributions to normal operations as a result.
The NAC has been working hard to develop a new website and to formalise its social media
presence. Both these projects form part of a suite of strategic marketing initiatives that are
currently under development and will soon be launched to help drive continued revenue and
customer growth.
