Similar to Boreen Point and Noosa River, operating revenue for the 2016/17 financial year
has exceeded budget due to favourable weather conditions but primarily revenue exceeded
budget because the revenue budget was reduced for the 2016/17 financial year to
anticipate the site’s closure for essential upgrade works in May 2017. The works are now
proposed for later in the 2017/18 financial year.
DA approval for the MCU is expected to be complete in August 2017. The MCU approval
will inform the detailed design of the site upgrade, with works expected to commence later
in 2017/18.
Operating expenses for the 2017/18 financial year were in line with budget.
PARK OCCUPANCY PERFORMANCE
The table below summarises occupancy data to 30 June 2017. The table highlights a 93.07%
occupancy rate for Noosa River Holiday Park (with powered caravan sites at 99% occupancy)
which reflects the location of the park and its popularity with the caravan market and generations
of return users. The Noosa North Shore and Boreen Point Campgrounds’ lower occupancy rates
reflect that these facilities are more remote and offer a different experience. Occupancy dropped
by around 5% compared to the same period in 2015/16 for the Noosa North Shore Campground
because the site was advertised as being closed from May 2017 due to essential site
improvements. The works are now proposed for later in the 2017/18 financial year.
