Client numbers summary
Statistics relating to the total number of services delivered are currently unreliable due to issues
with internal systems and processes. As such, no overview of numbers has been provided within
this report. Management are confident of resolving these issues by year-end and being able to
provide a summary in the end of year report.
Recent achievements
NCS has been able to achieve the following over the past 6 months:
Recruitment of a new NCS Coordinator to replace the incumbent who retired in June 2019.
Appointment of a new Client & Administration Services Team Leader.
Streamlining of operations in order to reduce costs and operate within reduced funding
parameters.
Transition of Queensland Community Care (QCC) clients to alternative service providers
following the loss of QCC funding.
NCS TRACCs database integrated into T1 to allow for more functional debtor invoicing and
receipting. This was a long process and took a lot of work from others in the organisation,
particularly staff from ICT and Finance.
Instigated a number of new programs and achieved encouraging take-up results. Many of
these programs are being run offsite, including in other Council venues, in order to diversify
operations and reduce programming reliance on the NCS centre.
Continued efforts to minimise emissions and use of plastics across the facility. The team
undertook a follow-up Ecobiz audit and achieved outstanding results and received a special
commendation.
