SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 10 MARCH 2020
The following information has been considered to provide an initial evaluation:
Bus type
Patronage
Customer feedback
Cost
Operational matters
a) Bus type
TransLink, as the State Government entity responsible for public transport, contracts public
passenger services to Sunbus on the Sunshine Coast. Traditionally, Sunbus operate large 12.5m
55 seat diesel buses on all Noosa bus routes.
The buses selected for trialling a Noosa Styled Loop bus were two modern smaller 9.9m buses
manufactured by Optare Group Limited. The buses were also branded with Noosa specific livery
to avoid the traditional large scale advertising common on other public transport buses.
Anecdotal responses to date suggest that the smaller bus size and Noosa specific livery attracted
positive feedback and contributed to requests for the service to continue.
