c) Customer Feedback
Council received customer feedback on the loop bus service from a number of sources including
facebook, surveys, and customers making contact with Council.
Comments received regarding the loop bus service were favourable with many requesting the
service be continued.
d) Cost
The costs for the 064 and the 065 routes are fully cost priced to Council as these are additional
services operating in the existing contract area.
The other five scheduled services are charged on a much lower ‘loss of revenue’ basis and do not
provide a relative financial comparison.
The cost estimate from TransLink to operate the loop bus service over the Easter holiday period is
$51,082 as described in the Finance section below.
e) Operational Matters
No significant operational matters were experienced during the Christmas holiday trials however
an initial evaluation of the Park & Ride site indicates that there was not a significant uptake in use
of the Noosa AFL grounds as a Park and Ride location. The customer survey results show that
people are choosing to walk to their nearest bus stop or park at other locations along the route.
Nonetheless, given the forecast long term visitor growth and the future reduction of car parking at
Noosa Junction (due to the redevelopment of the Coles site) it is proposed to continue to promote
the Park & Ride facility at the Noosa AFL grounds.
