PROPOSED RESIDENCE
66 SEAVIEW TERRACE, SUNSHINE BEACH
Locally, Seaview Terrace had been constructed on a cut and fill earthworks feature, sidelong to the slope. A
small cut was estimated (<1 m depth), with filling on the downslope side resulting in an embankment
estimated to contain about 1 m height of material, battered at around 30°. The batter was present with the
site, just over the western boundary (Ref. Text Figure 6 on the preceding pages). A more gently sloping area
was present through the majority of the site area, and building envelope, being around 8°, sloping to the
east. An area to the south-east corner of the lot, and beyond the eastern boundary sloped at around 18° to
22°. Beyond this, the main high dune face then dropped down to Sunshine Beach at between 29° and 33°.
The face of the dune was relatively consistent and linear, steepening to 40° around 2 m to 3 m up from the
toe.
Beyond the toe of the main high dune, a trough was present of about 10 m width; then a small foredune
around 1.5 m height, with sidelopes of around 10° to 11°. A shorter trough of about 5 m width was then
present to an incipient dune, around 1.5 m to 2 m height; with sideslopes of up to 15°. The beach extended
thereafter, dropping down from about RL 2 m AHD to the shoreline (around RL 0 m AHD).
The abovementioned geomorphological features are illustrated below in Text Figure 9.
