    4.3.2 GEOPHYSICAL DATA

The dust modelling geophysical data is consistent with that described in Section
    3.3.2 above.

    4.3.3 DUST EMISSION RATES

Emissions of dust from the poultry sheds were estimated using the National
Pollutant Inventory publication ‘Emission Estimation Technique Manual for
Intensive Livestock – Poultry Raising, Version 1.0 13 June, 2002’. The National
Pollutant Inventory lists a PM10 emission rate factor for broiler farms of 0.088
kg(PM10)/animal/year. Variable particulate emissions from each shed was
represented for Default Stocking and the Staggered Stocking scenarios.

The relative emissions of Total Suspended Particulates, PM10 and PM2.5 were
derived from information presented by Mirrabooka Consulting7 based upon a
report prepared by Holmes Air Sciences8.

TSP as % of Total Dust: 100%
        PM10 as % of Total Dust: 77%
PM2.5 as % of Total Dust: 19% (assumed as half of PM5 fraction
                                                reported by HAS (2003)

The individual particle size fractions were modelled as separate species in
CALPUFF, and then the overall TSP, PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations were
grouped. This allows the model to more accurately characterise the rate of dust
    deposition from the plume.

    4.3.4 DUST SOURCE REPRESENTATION

The dust source representation in the model is consistent with that described in
    Section 3.3.4 above.
