4.0 DUST IMPACT ASSESSMENT
4.1 DUST ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY
Detailed dust dispersion modelling has been conducted using the CALMET /
CALPUFF modelling system to assess the exposure of surrounding sensitive
receptors to dust emissions from the proposed development.
Ambient dust data from the Queensland DERM has been considered in the
assessment.
Further information on the assessment methodology is provided in Section 3.1
above.
4.2 RELEVANT DUST GUIDELINES
The relevant dust guidelines are those specified in the Queensland Environmental
Protection (Air) Policy 2008, as follows:
Table 9: Applicable Dust Guidelines
AVERAGING
POLLUTANT GUIDELINE SOURCE
PERIOD
TSP Annual Average 90 µg/m3 EPP(Air) 2008
24 Hour Average
PM10 50 µg/m3 EPP(Air) 2008
(6th highest)
PM2.5 Annual Average 8 µg/m3 EPP(Air) 2008
PM2.5 24 Hour Average 25 µg/m3 EPP(Air) 2008
Dust Deposition Annual Average 120 mg/m2/day Common ERA Condition
4.3 DESCRIPTION OF DUST MODEL
4.3.1 METEOROLOGICAL DATA
The dust modelling meteorological data is consistent with that described in
Section 3.3.1 above.
