As a result, current demand for fuel is above the level at which existing Service Stations can accommodate
sustainably. This is currently being addressed by existing centres overtrading, which raises significant price
pressures across the Study Area and results in residents and businesses paying more than the “fair value” for
fuel.

By 2018, there will be demand for an additional 4.2m litres of Service Station capacity in the Study
Area. This represents 356,000 litres per month, which is above the sustainable level for a full-line
24hour Service Station within the Noosa market. This gap will continue to grow over time, resulting in a
further Service Station being required by 2023 and a third by 2031.
