6.3 H EALTH & S TRUCTURAL C HANGE
Following the reviews in 2024 and the more recent March 2025 review, a considerable number
of trees were determined to have experienced a negative health change since 2022. 181 trees
were reviewed in 2025 as being within the influence of the development. Of these, 85 trees
were noted to have experienced a negative health change, with 157 exhibiting no significant
difference in health, or were not specifically reassessed as part of the March 2025 review (61
trees), and so information from the 2022 review has been utilised instead.
65 trees have experienced a negative structural change, with 177 exhibiting no significant
difference in structural condition or were not specifically reassessed as part of the March 2025
review (61 trees), and so information from the 2022 review has been utilised instead.
These figures show a negative change in the health of 85, or 35% of the trees and a negative
structural change of 65, or 27% of the trees. When correcting for the change in total number
of trees reviewed, this shows that of the 181 trees that were reviewed, 47% displayed a
negative health change, and 36% displayed a negative structural change.

A direct comparison with the recent assessment in March 2025 was not possible, as the total
number of trees that were assessed as being within the influence of the development is slightly
less, at 181. What can be noted is that in the space of 7 months from the 2024 review, the
forest experienced a further negative impact from the invasive vine.
These figures show an ongoing decline in the viable treescape at the site.
