ni PROPOSED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT i 39 PICTURE POINT CRESCENT, NOOSA HEADS geotechnical & environmental engineers Text Figure 5: Looking upslope (and south) from northern boundary towards existing residence 4.2. Topography During the site walk-over, topographic features specific to the site were noted, and ground slopes were recorded using a hand-held clinometer. As illustrated in Text Figure 6 below, the site is located just off the crest of an ancient back dune, over the upper flank which slopes down to the north-west. The dune flank continues off site to the north-west, across Noosa Drive, and thence to the lower reaches of the Noosa River about 75 m downslope. The natural ground slope around the existing residence had been altered as a result of historic earthworks and construction. Based on the available topographical information and site observations, the natural ground slope appears to be inclined at around 30° around the existing residence, increasing to a maximum of 34° towards the northern site boundary. This relatively steep sloping ground continued consistently off site to the north towards Noosa Drive, and was generally quite linear. No irregular surface features were noted which would indicate global slope instability.
