PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 28 APRIL 2015
Finance & Risk
The costs will be primarily officer time undertake the review strategy. It is estimated that the
workload will equate to approximately 2 months of officer time. Due to other officer
commitments, this time will be spread over a 12 month period (i.e. an average of 1.7 basins
reviewed per week).
The review may also identify some outstanding maintenance and or rectification works
needed on Council owned bioretention basins.
The risk of not undertaking the proposed project is associated with ineffective stormwater
quality management from urban developments, localised nutrient pulses which affect flora
and fauna and in particular encourage weed growth in heathlands that require low nutrients.
This then causes increased workloads for the weed management teams within Council.
