GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 28 APRIL 2014
The attached Operational Plan reports by Department show each initiative or activity and include
comments from the relevant Manager or Director about progress.
There is nothing outstanding that gives any cause for concern at this stage. Obviously, given the
fact that there are 130 activities specified in the Operational Plan, it is quite likely that not
everything will be completed by 30 June. However, it should also be noted that all of the major
initiatives (previously identified to Council in the roadmap) are on track.
As Council would be aware, this is an incredibly busy time for our organisation. All of our staff
are working very hard to establish the Council and to address the high level of customer
requests. We are also clearly running a lean organisation in terms of our staffing numbers.
Looking ahead
At this stage, we have not yet developed fully integrated performance reporting although the
Council does already receive monthly budget reporting on financial issues. However, in future
quarterly reports, it is intended to give Council an overall snapshot of some key performance
indicators. As an example, customer statistics such as the number of customer requests,
average response times etc could be included.
Previous Council Consideration
The Council adopted the Operational Plan at its meeting on 2 January 2014 as part of the budget
adoption process for the 6 month period to 30 June 2014.
