The following minimum Factor of Safety (FOS) was targeted as part of the global stability assessment:
FOS 1.5 (long term stability)
The approximate locations of the boreholes are presented on the site plan in Appendix A. The logs of
the boreholes are provided in Appendix B. The laboratory test reports are presented in Appendix C.
The Level 1 certification report is attached as Appendix D. The survey plans and sections provided by
the Client and used in the global stability assessment are contained in Appendix E. The global stability
plots are attached as Appendix F. The Guidelines for Hillside Construction are shown in Appendix G.
3.0 SITE DESCRIPTION
At the time of the assessment, the constructed platform had been constructed as cut-to-fill within the
side of a hill, located in a regional area. Topographically the area reaches RL210 AHD to the south and
slopes down to approximately RL110 AHD to the north west. The constructed platform appears to be
essentially level and is located approximately between RL140 AHD and RL130 AHD with a north west
facing aspect.
Figure 1 presents an aerial image of the location of the constructed platform relative to the local
topography and watercourses.
