The documents, submitted as part of the MCU, which address bushfire safety and evacuation have
been reviewed and the comments from that review are included in this document. You are strongly
encouraged to consider these comments and, based on these comments, provide the appropriate
input into the review and consideration of the MCU Application.

2. Potential numbers of people affected by bushfire
There are serious concerns about the number of people within Noosa Springs who may be affected by
a bushfire, whether they are residents, visitors, guests, and staff for the Golf & Spa Resort, the
Parkridge facilities or the proposed hotel, and any service providers, delivery people or tradesmen.

    a) Residents in local precincts

The following table shows the number of residences (properties) in the Noosa Springs and adjacent
residential communities, and an estimate of the likely number of residents, based on a conservative
estimate of 2 residents per residence.

Obviously, the number of people resident in these communities at any given time could be
considerably higher than the estimated number in the table. Potentially, there will also be visitors,
tradesmen, gardeners, maintenance and repair personnel and delivery drivers on site, as well as a
significant increase in the number of family members during the holiday season.

In an emergency, when Resort Drive comes under threat from a bushfire, some of the properties in The
Fairways and Parkridge, and the restaurant and gym facilities in Parkridge may also need to be
evacuated, adding to the numbers of people to be accommodated in the Golf & Spa Resort, and/or
adding to the number of vehicles attempting to evacuate along Links Drive. This will further increase
the risk to all those involved.


    b) Non-resident users of the Golf & Spa Resort and car parking

The following table shows the number of car parking spaces currently available and proposed at the
Golf & Spa Resort.

Depending on the activities being undertaken at the Resort at any given time e.g. golf events, spa, gym,
tennis & pool activities, conferences and other events/functions, and including the Resort and golf
course staff, contractors and tradesmen, the available car parking may be fully utilised.
