Risks & Opportunities
The Community facilities branch and the NLC also are facing some challenges and the need for
change in the future, these being brought about by the following:
1. The over reliance on the use of casual positions to undertake core duties and roles within
the facility is a significant potential risk. The planned restructuring of the staffing profile
will position the facility to better manage its daily and future operations.
2. Utilization of the facility has reached it capacity in the ‘peak’ hours of operation, this will
provide challenges in being able to support further growth of sport and active recreation
offerings at the facility.
3. Aging infrastructure, both in the facility and within the carpark and greater precinct will
require future investment to keep it fit for purpose and compliant into the future
