Town Planning Report - Material Change of Use Outdoor Sport and Recreation - Temporary relocation ~ Lake Macdonald Dr Lake Mac
Town Planning Report Material Change of Use – Outdoor Sport and Recreation (Temporary Use) 3. Background Due to ongoing dam improvement works at Lake Macdonald, operations of the Lake Macdonald Rowing Club, previously located on the northern shore of the lake, have ceased. Seqwater have endeavoured to ensure that rowing activities remain viable on the lake during the ongoing works, requiring the temporary relocation of the Lake Macdonald Rowing Club to an alternative site until the dam works are complete in approximately five (5) years. Approval was obtained on 17 June 2025 for the relocation of the Rowing Club to Darter Park (Lake Macdonald Drive - access via Hoy Road) (MCU24/0151). However, as a result of lake lowering associated with the aforementioned dam works, this site is no longer useable as the waterfront area is not suitable for boat launching and is unsafe for rowers. 3.1.
