Report on Bushfire Management Report for a minor Mr J. & Mrs K. Hofmann
change to the Approval at 191 Hollett Road,
Noosaville

1. Introduction
The Hofmann’s have proposed a minor change to the Development Approval granted 5
July 2013 pursuant to the judgement made by the P&E Court Appeal No. 344 of 2009.

This report deals with the bushfire implications of this minor change.

2. Description of the Changes
The proposed changes are summarised as:-
    (1) South West Corner
A reduction in lots from 9 to 2 and physical shrinkage to about 2ha in the south
west corner. The previously agreed 4 metre perimeter firebreak and fire trail
            remain.
    (2) Southern Section West of Access Road
This area has been reduced in size and lot number from 4 to 3. The perimeter 4
metre separation and fire trail is retained.
    (3) North of the Power Line
This area has been reduced from 7 lots to 4 lots. The perimeter 4 metre
separation and fire trail are retained. The capacity to link to the existing
management access to the north out and under Walter Hay Drive also remains.
This access is for emergency use only and the existing access out onto Walter
Hay Drive provide excellent visibility for this very occasional use.

3. Implications of the Changes for Bushfire Management
   • The intent of perimeter access and separation has not changed.
   • The length of fire line is reduced and this is less of a burden in the case of a
       suppression event.
   • The location of residences to be 30 metres from certain vegetation is unchanged,
       desirable and achievable.
