Rather than succumbing to pressures of a small group of land owners, as a council it is your
responsibility to think and advocate for the greater good, the wider community, not just a
handful.

I draw attention to Noosa Councils draft Health and Wellbeing Plan 2019-24

I would suggest that producing a document as such, requires the council to abide by its
own recommendations:

P.3 World Health Org definition: Wellbeing is defined as 'not just the absence of disease or
illness. It is a complex combination of a person's physical, mental, emotional and social
health factors. Wellbeing is strongly linked to happiness and life satisfaction. In short,
wellbeing could be described as how you feel about yourself and your life.'

5.1 Council's Vision

The Corporate Plan defines Council's desired outcomes for the Noosa community. These
include:______
• Noosa Shire is an active and healthy community
• Our community capacity has increased and community needs are being met
• Our health and aged care sectors are meeting the needs of our demographic.


P.4 Positive community health outcomes are reliant on partnerships between government
agencies, service providers, local organisations, non-government agencies and the
community. Councils have a key role in advocating and facilitating partnerships (internal and
external) to deliver and support key actions to promote health and wellbeing and minimise
disease and health risk burden. A whole of community approach to health and wellbeing is
required to ensure all of Council's operations and its external partners work towards the
same objectives.
