Hello Mick,

RE: In-principle support for driveway access to 36 Roses Road, FEDERAL (unformed road)

Further to the meefing held with the Richard MacGillivray, Director Development & Regulafion, Hayley Jamieson (
Property Officer) and yourself on Tuesday 5th December 2023, I can advise the following outcomes:

    1. Council agreed to the property owner of 36 Roses Road, Federal – Mick and Karina Jones - lodging a
Development Applicafion (Operafional Works) for a private driveway within the unformed secfion of Roses Rd
       including a water course crossing.
    2. It was agreed that the property owner seek out a suitably qualified engineer to undertake the design of the
       driveway to the relevant standard.
    3. It was agreed that the property owner make preliminary enquires with TMR regarding the driveway’s
proposed intersecfion with Cooroy Gympie Rd being a state-controlled road.

It is noted that since the meefing, you have contacted the local TMR office ( TMR reference TMR24-041468) to seek
advice regarding the approval process for the intersecfion between the driveway and their road of which they sought
addifional informafion.

The addifional informafion requested from TMR was for the agreement/approval for the access to be via
unconstructed Council road corridor. Council clarified this requirement with TMR and Dinesh advised that Council
approval, being OpWorks in this instance, would be required to be provided to TMR prior to assessment of the
intersecfion. Please note the previous email provided on this topic dated 19.4.2024.

To round things off, Council is expecfing your Operafional Works applicafion when you are ready to lodge.

Please let me know if you require any addifional informafion or clarificafion regarding this mafter.

p.s if there are any errors or omission regarding the meefing outcomes or anything else, please let me know and I will
update this correspondence.

Kind Regards,

Hayley Jamieson | Property Officer

Hi Mick,

I have finally touched base back with DTMR and further clarified with our own Engineers.

Dinesh advised that he is unable to provide specific advice regarding the proposed road intersecfion from the
driveway to a State Controlled Rd unfil you have plans.

He confirmed the course of acfion required is to engage an engineer to design the driveway to your property along
with the intersecfion with the State controlled road to the standard required by TMR (the engineer will know the
relevant standards).

There is an opfion to seek preliminary endorsement of the design from TMR for the intersecfion design of which they
may provide relevant condifions for inclusion in your OpWorks Applicafion to Council.

TMR will sfill be a referral agency to the OpWorks Applicafion due to the intersecfion with a State Controlled Rd,
therefore if you do not seek endorsement prior to lodging the OpWorks they will sfill review the applicafion through
the OpWorks Applicafion process.

Apologies if this seems a liftle confusing Mick, for ease of moving forward contact a suitable qualified consulfing
engineer to review the mafter and provide a proposal to take the process forward on your behalf.

If you are around Monday and need further clarificafion, I can call you at 10.00am.

Hi Hayley,

That would be appreciated.

From memory of our meefing, it was suggested we obtain TMR approval before proceeding with the Council
Applicafion. Let me know if this is incorrect.

Below is the quesfion asked by TMR

                                                                 3

    1. Your proposed road to access the property appears to be via an unconstructed council road corridor. Have
you applied to council to have access to the council road corridor and to construct a new road in the council
road corridor? Please provide agreement and/ or approval from council.

TMR Contact
Dinesh Thilakasiri, Senior Engineer (Civil) on 07 (07) 5451 7067.

Ref number TMR24-041468

Can you let me know the outcome please?

Regards,

Mick

Hi Mick,

Could you provide me with the contact at TMR so I can discuss with them what it is they require from Council.

It might be easier than going back and forward with emails.

Hi Mick and Karina,

Thank you for your fime today.

As discussed, I have aftached the informafion sheet from DTMR regarding the process for making applicafion to
access a DTMR controlled road.

In the first instance you will need to write to DTMR office outlining the proposal to construct an access to a driveway
from a DTMR controlled Rd. The office will then provide the applicafion form and any other relevant informafion for
you to make the applicafion.

The local Sunshine Coast Office contact details are [email protected] and phone number is 07 5451
7055.

The DTMR Officer I have been liaising with and who is familiar with this mafter is Mr Brendan Henry.

If you need anything else, please do not hesitate to call or email me.
