3.4 State Government Values 3.4.1 Remnant Vegetation The DNRME Regulated Vegetation Management Map identifies the site as supporting Category B Endangered remnant vegetation (Appendix 4). Relevance on site (Field Assessment) The ground-truthed survey determined that the vegetation located on site is consistent with the DNRME status of non-remnant and remnant. The Regional ecosystem is analogous to RE 12.11.16 described as Eucalyptus cloeziana open forest on metamorphics +/- interbedded volcanics. The site assessment confirmed the accuracy of this mapping. 3.4.1 State Significant Flora and Fauna Species The Protected Plants Flora Survey Trigger Map (DES, 2020) designates the site as High risk area for the occurrence of threatened flora species (Appendix 4). The WildNet database identifies two (2) state-listed threatened flora species within a 2 km radius of the site, namely southern penda (Xanthostemon oppositifolius) and scrub turpentine (Rhodamnia rubescens)) (Appendix 3). Relevance on site (Field Assessment) A flora survey for threatened species was undertaken in accordance with the Flora Survey Guidelines - Protected Plants. Both Xanthostemon oppositifolius and Rhodamnia rubescens were found within the property but they are located more than 100m away from the proposed dwelling and will not be impacted by the development. These species were not found as part of the 100m survey transect but as part of further ecological assessment undertaken across the whole property. An assessment of the likelihood of other threatened species being present on site has been provided in Appendix 6. PR20257_EVNT_327 Kinmond Creek Road, Cootharaba Page 12
