4.3.4 Buildings and Other Structures
 The south-eastern portion of the site was occupied by a brick shed, metal clad amenities shed and a
timber car port with a brick paved floor.
 The relatively flat upper (southern) portion of the site was supported by a timber sleeper retaining wall
about 0.6m height (see Plate 3) and as noted above there is a boulder retaining wall indicated on the
survey plan that was overgrown and corresponds to the steeper portion of the sloping central portion of
the site. There were no obvious signs of significant timber retaining wall damage.

 The neighbouring two storey timber house to the west was set-back about 1.5 from the common site
boundary. Surface levels were similar across the site boundary and the neighbouring surface levels in
the rear yard stepped and sloped down to the north with a rock facing supporting a steeper section just
beyond the neighbouring northern site boundary. The northern portion of the neighbouring house was
suspended between timber posts supported by concrete footings.
 The neighbouring one and two storey steel framed concrete block and timber clad house and a metal
clad single level northern extension were suspended over the slope (see Plate 2 above) and a metal clad
garage was located over the south-western portion of the neighbouring site. The buildings were set-back
between about 1m and 3m from the common site boundary. Surface levels were similar across the site
      boundary
 There were no obvious signs of damage to buildings within or neighbouring the site that indicated slope
      instability.

5 GEOTECHNICAL STABILITY ASSESSMENT

5.1 Existing Conditions
Reference to the Noosa Shire Council Landslide Hazard Overlay Map [Ref. OM-LS-14A] dated 2019 indicates
that the site contains areas of terrain that are designated as “Moderate Hazard“ and “High Hazard”. An
extract of the Landslide Hazard Overlay Map OM-LS-14B is presented as Plate 4.
