8.3 ACCIDENT AND INCIDENT RESPONSE
In line with the specific project Safety Plan, in the event of an emergency the following emergency procedure will be enacted by
the first responder or witness; the event of a traffic crash or incident within the project bounds:
      1. “Emergency, Emergency, Emergency” will be stated over the designated UHF Radio, All radio communications not
           relevant to the situation stops (Nominated UHF radio channel will be communicated at the Pre-start meeting).
      2. All works will cease immediately and the Site supervisor and Traffic Control will coordinate the following steps
      3. Triple 000 (000) will be called and the location and details of the incident will be given.
      4. The site’s designated First Aider will provide First Aid if required.
      5. The first responder will not leave the area, TC are watch for and assist emergency services as required.

BBN CONSTRUCTIONS shall assist with the mitigation of the impacts of incidents so far as is reasonably practicable. Furthermore,
and as required by the TCASAP, an occurrence that in the opinion of the traffic controller, affects the operational safety and/or
effectiveness of a traffic controller at a worksite or at roadworks, requires the following actions by the traffic controller;
A traffic controller must take the following action if a minor accident/crash occurs within their designated worksite or traffic
control operational area:
     1. Call for assistance if needed
     2. Notify the worksite supervisor
     3. Maintain effective traffic control
     4. Move the traffic control station to a suitable location that includes the accident site within the traffic control
           operational area
     5. Record sufficient notes of the incident, including their observations, in order to complete an incident report.

If the situation is more serious or poses further risk of injury to persons or damage to property, the traffic controller must:
     1. Notify the worksite supervisor immediately
     2. If the situation requires evacuation of the area, inform vehicle drivers of the situation and direct them to turn around
           and find an alternative route
     3. Relocate the traffic control station to a safe position clear of any real or potential danger
     4. Record sufficient notes of the incident including their observations in order to complete an incident report.

BBN CONSTRUCTIONS shall record all the signs and devices within the project bounds as well as the actual width and condition
of the travelled path by taking time and date stamped photographs. In the event of a traffic crash/incident that requires
notification to Police and relevant Emergency Services, BBN CONSTRUCTIONS shall make the appropriate notifications. All
crashes/incidents shall be recorded in the incident log of which a copy shall be forwarded to the Administrator within 24 hours
of the incident, and at other times as requested by the Administrator.
