E2 Speed Choices
The permanent posted speed limits at the site is: 40km/h.
The contributing factors to the consideration of the adopted work site speed limit were: Proximity of workers, plant and to live
traffic, minimum available lane widths, complex traffic management not often experienced by the local road users and the
presence of cyclists and persons near live traffic.

The adopted speed limits for the site will remain at 40km/h

The method for establishing and enforcing the adopted traffic speeds include advanced warning signs and regulatory signs as
per QGTTM Part 3.

E3 Speed Monitoring
On site traffic control are to continuously monitor TTM and road user behaviours, any instances of excessive speed are to be
noted and reported to BBN Constructions at the end of every shift.

E4 Risk Assessment
Where speed monitoring demonstrates that speed compliance is not achieved (the 85% percentile speed is greater
than 10 km/h above the posted roadwork speed limit), a decision is required to either:
   a) Introduce additional measures to achieve compliance with the speed limit, or
   b) Implement detour plan

E5 Engineering Remedial Actions
Should the results of ongoing speed monitoring show noncompliance with speed controls such that require an Engineering
remedial action, MPH with consult with BBN CONSTRUCTIONS and a RPEQ to revise this plan with consideration to;
   a) Alter work practices and/or increase speed limits.
   b) Make warning signage more conspicuous and more prominent
   c)    Implement additional engineering measures to reduce traffic speeds

E6 Enforcement Remedial Actions

In the event that the preceding engineering remedial actions are ineffective, Police enforcement can be requested
in accordance with the procedure in MRTS02 Appendix B following TMR approval.
