Finance
Once the final Plan has been adopted, the implementation of any new initiatives contained within
the Plan including monitoring, reporting and evaluation will need to be considered within
Council’s annual budget process and priorities both now and into the future. Resources will need
to be allocated for this work. It is estimated 0.2 FTE will be required to coordinate, implement and
report annually on the plan.
Risks & Opportunities
Population outcomes as described in the action plan are mostly attributable to external agencies
and local community groups.
This Plan highlights the significant work Council currently undertakes in the community health
field and identifies that Council has a role in ensuring the community’s wellbeing.
By identifying a lead agency and defining Council’s role it attempts to mitigate the risk that
Council is responsible for delivering all of the community’s health and wellbeing needs.
The Plan also aims to ensure that Noosa Council’s policies and operations are aligned with the
broader health and wellbeing outcomes that the State and Federal Governments are seeking to
achieve, thereby avoiding a duplication of effort and or resources.
The Plan provides an opportunity to improve current working relationships with external agencies
resulting in higher quality outcomes for the community’s health and wellbeing.
Consultation
External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder
Extensive external consultation has taken place as part of the development of the Noosa
Community Health and Wellbeing Plan 2019-2024 including ongoing reference groups, broad
public consultation through various means and targeted consultation with individuals and
organisations. Please refer to the sections “Methodology” and “Consultation” within the Draft
Community Health and Wellbeing Plan for further details.
