Statement of Landscape Intent
Attached to the e-mail Further information - MCU17/0551.
DEVELOPMENT OUTLINE
The proposed development involves the construction and landscaping of an additional 10 (ten) independent living dwellings to the existing
Palm Lake Resort (resulting in a dwelling total of 230), with an internal road network linking to the adjacent stages. The site will also contain a
bioretention basin and stormwater easement. Outlined below is the methodology and rationale for the landscape design depicted on the following
pages. Access to the site is via the Palm Lake Resort main entrance on Trading Post Road. The proposed development layout is shown on the 214 213 211 210 209 208 207 199 198 197 196 195 194 193 192 191 190 189 188

species including ground and middle storey (shrub/feature) plantings, and embellished with informal shade tree planting where space allows.
These plantings will create aesthetic interest, focal points, soften hardscapes, and increase usability within the private open space areas. Where
possible, dwelling footprints will be positioned to take advantage the northern aspect.
PLANTING
The species used within the landscape design are derived from both exotic and local native species present within the Noosa Shire area. Use of
these species will also create a valuable aesthetic appeal, unique to the region. Local native species play an important role in identifying with a
locality and therefore achieving a ‘sense of place’.
A landscape precinct plan, and landscape concept masterplan, along with sections, and planting palettes on the following pages, provide a
graphical representation of the proposed landscape intent and support the above design rationale.
