Ecological and Bushfire Assessment Report
Lot 71 on MCH 2854, Castaways Beach
The Site is freehold land that has a ‘Detached Housing’ land use designation pursuant to the Noosa Plan.
The Site is partially cleared and supports two existing dwellings and associated infrastructure.
The Site is located approximately 100m westward from the active beach zone (i.e. Castaways Beach) and the
intervening land supports a vegetated coastal dune system.
The Site is bounded by:
Burgess Creek to the north;
vegetated coastal dune system and Castaways Beach to the east;
similarly vegetated and undeveloped land to the south and south-east; and
David Low Way to the west and a residential development beyond this.
The Site supports a combination of landscaped areas and vegetation of local origin.
The purpose of this report is to present the findings of the ecological and bushfire assessments which have
been conducted in respect of the Site to inform the development design, assessment and approvals process.
