3.2 Threatened Flora Survey
Lobelia membranacea was listed during flora surveys in March-April 2013. The location of this species was
not targeted during the 2013 surveys as this species was not identified as a Near Threatened species under
the Nature Conservation (Wildlife) Regulation 2006 until 2014 (i.e. amendment 1 2014 (9 May 2014)).
The survey undertaken on 31st March 2015 confirmed the species present on site as Lobelia quadrangularis.
This species is not listed under the Nature Conservation (Wildlife) Regulation 2006. Lobelia quadrangularis
was identified at three locations within the study area 26.417508ºS, 153.049042ºE; 26.417622ºS,
153.048887ºE; and 26.417683ºS, 153.048635ºE.
At the time of the initial surveys (i.e. March and April 2013) the Census of Queensland Flora (Bostock and
Holland, 2010) listed L. membranacea as present within the Moreton District, with records of L. quadrangularis
restricted to within and north east of the Burnett district. Since an update to the census on 27 June 2013,
records of L. membranacea in the Moreton District have been assigned to L. quadrangularis (i.e. L.
membranacea is not present within the Moreton District).
Table 3-2 below provides a summary of the habitat requirements of the species of significance listed in Noosa
Council’s Information Request.
