Already a number of staff with vehicle private use arrangements have indicated that they are
interested in returning their vehicles. These options are currently being investigated.

The Mayor and Chief Executive Officer have opted to not take up options for the use of a Council
motor vehicle, in order to contribute towards Council’s ongoing financial sustainability.

5.     Other Issues

GPS tracking technology is being progressively implemented to allow monitoring of vehicle
usage, which will assist with ensuring the efficient use of the vehicle fleet to minimise cost. In
particular commuter use will be closely monitored to ensure that usage remains within Council
motor vehicle usage guidelines.

FINANCE & RISK

The savings identified to date will be realised in the 2014/15 budget. Any ongoing savings will be
progressively recognised within Council’s budget when they are achieved.
