GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 16 JANUARY 2017

The inconsistent component being the tasting room and associated kitchen is an integral part of a
brewery business model. Notwithstanding the proposed business model, it is important to note, the
76m² (use area) tasting room is not proposed as a stand alone food and beverage use, but is
ancillary to the primary compliant industrial use on site; the brewing of alcoholic beverages.
Specific Outcome O105 of the Noosaville Locality Code seeks that development in the Shire
Business Centre zone incorporates built form elements that create visual interest from the street.
The proposal provides some articulation and variety of material to the entry but a portion of the
façade is painted masonry and does not contribute to an interesting façade. To improve the street
appearance a condition could be included to incorporate some additional treatment to improve the
elevation.
