Discussions to date have occurred with a range of State agencies and officers, Council officers, Mayor and Deputy
Mayor. These discussions and site meetings have been without prejudice seeking information, understanding process,
applications required, identifying challenges and positive aspects of future operations.
Intrinsic to the considerations is the necessity to undertake the installation and operation of jetty infrastructure to
facilitate delivery of quality services into the Everglades from the location. It will also establish a navigable and safe
boating access point from the south eastern foreshore area of the existing camp ground.
The jetty will be public infrastructure providing opportunities for fishing, kayak access, safe mooring point whilst using
the facilities at Elanda Point and reduce the existing risk of motorized craft mixing within the shallow areas where
swimming and fishing is being undertaken by the public.

Of significant benefit, the establishment of a public jetty at this location will see the existing Discovery Group
operations of 1,500 high speed vessel movements / year from Noosaville through the Noosa River to the Everglades
be removed.
These high speed vessel movements would be relocated and replaced for the eco-tourism operations being conducted
from the Elanda Point public jetty into low draw, low wash, small jet powered unit boats which will be specifically
designed for the upper lake and estuary system to deliver no impacts, and would be a significant improvement from
current operations.
