6.0 IMPORTANT NOTES

1). The site classifica on in this report is based upon soil informa on that was obtained during the site
inves ga on. Other contribu ng factors may include exis ng vegeta on and structures on the site.
Informa on supplied by the client, including the type of building proposed, loca on of the building and
any known details of the past history at the site is also taken into account when determining the site
classifica on.
2). This inves ga on included undertaking a limited amount of boreholes to establish the exis ng soil
condi ons at the me of the inves ga on. It is not economic or prac cal to test every subsurface
feature on this site. Therefore, there is a possibility for a varia on in the soil profile to occur onsite. If
varia ons are found onsite to those in the bore logs (including material type, strength or differing
depths) it is recommended that the office be contacted immediately for further advice.
3). This site classifica on does not take into account changes to the site aFer the inves ga on date.
Changes may include cuGng or filling to the site, introduc on of vegeta on (trees and shrubs) and
flooding at the site or a significant rain event where water is leF to pool on the site for a prolonged
period. It is recommended that a re-classifica on or further work be undertaken if any of the above
changes have been made to the site.
4). Special a;en on should be given to the CSIRO, BTF 18, “Founda on Maintenance and Foo ng
Performance: A Homeowners Guide” document. This document outlines the typical causes for building
movements and gives recommenda ons to prevent any such movements. This document is a;ached
to this report.
5). The strength of the soil can be highly variable depending on the moisture (wet or dry) present in the
soil. The strength of the soil is in the bore logs is an indica on of the strength at the me of the
inves ga on only.
6). The soil colours stated in the bore logs may vary with individual interpreta on and the moisture
content at the me of the inves ga on. Therefore, it is assumed that whoever is inspec ng the
founda ons that they have a reasonable understanding of soils and can iden fy the recommended
founding material. If there is an issue in iden fying the recommended founding material it is
recommended that a Caloundra Soil Tes ng be contacted or suitably qualified person be engaged.
7). This report does not take into account the slope stability of the site. If this site is within a
designated land slip area or has excessive slope then it is recommended that a slope stability
assessment be undertaken on this site.
If you should have any queries concerning these results then please don’t hesitate to contact
Caloundra Soil Tes ng on 0437 865 006.
