In consideration of the above points, staff do not feel that it is necessary to introduce a policy
regulating the use of PMDs at this stage. A watching brief on the matter will however be maintained
and an assessment of the need for such a policy will be reviewed should more PMD activity
become prevalent in the Noosa area, resulting in safety issues and complaints from the community.

That Council note the report by the Team Leader, Transport Infrastructure Management to the
Infrastructure & Services Committee Meeting dated 17 June 2014, and:
A.     Note the minutes of the Noosa Traffic Advisory and Speed Management Committee held on
       15 May 2014; and
B.     Undertake the development of a policy to manage Segway use on road reserves and public
       land.
