4.2 Development According to information provided by Stockwell, construction of the proposed Noosa
timing Civic Village will occur over the period 2024 to 2026, with an 18-month construction
program.
The centre will open in around mid-2026, with 2026-27 therefore being the first full
financial year of trade.
4.3 Noosa Civic It is relevant for the purposes of later economic analysis that Stockwell has lodged a code
Stage 2 assessable development application for the Stage 2 expansion of the Noosa Civic
Shopping Centre within Lot 1 of the NBC Retail precinct.
The proposed development would add 6,500 sqm of retail floorspace for a range of
mainly larger tenants, and would include a multi-level car park (basement and decked) to
be constructed within the existing parking area immediately to the north of the existing
centre.
It is expected that the focus for the code assessable Stage 2 Retail development would be
on adding a range of leisure and other non-food destination retailers, supported by food
and drink outlets, that reflect the sub-regional role of the NBC and would widen its offer
to residents and visitors staying in the Noosa region, consistent with its sub-regional
shopping role.
