5.4 Retail Details of retail floorspace by centre across the catchment are presented in Table 7 over
provision the page, noting that this is based on floorspace surveys conducted in July 2022, with a
minor modification to include the 350 sqm IGA which opened at Sunrise Shopping
             Centre in November 2022.

Total retail provision is estimated at approximately 154,255 sqm, of which around
114,895 sqm is in traditional retailing and another 39,360 sqm is LFR selling homewares,
furniture and other large format goods.

A large share of traditional retail floorspace is provided within the Primary catchment
where retailing is focussed at Noosa Civic (combined 16,460 sqm), Noosaville
(14,730 sqm) and smaller centres including in and around Tewantin. LFR provision is
mainly found within the showroom precinct at Noosa Civic and in the surrounding area
including within industrial and enterprise zones adjacent to Noosa Civic (combined
24,245 sqm) and at Noosaville (10,365 sqm).
Other significant collections of retailing occur within the Secondary North-east sector
including at Noosa Junction (combined 17,700 sqm of traditional retail) and Noosa Heads
(12,705 sqm), and with a total of 24,070 sqm of combined traditional retail at centres to
the south within the Secondary South-east sector.
Vacancy rates across the catchment centres are low, averaging just 3.5% across all
centres, and with a vacancy rate of just 1.5% at Noosa Civic. The only locations that have
high vacancy rates are smaller centres where an individual vacant tenancy can make a
large difference to the overall vacancy rate.
