            Previous cut and fill earthworks had also been undertaken during the construction of the existing residence
            and driveway. Based on a visual appraisal it appeared that cut and fill earthworks in the order of about 2 m
            deep and 2 m high had been undertaken, most of which were supported by timber sleeper and boulder
            retaining walls. A fill batter about 2 m high was present downslope of the existing driveway which was
            battered at about 30°. Inferred natural gradients around the residence typically ranged between 20° and 25°.
