Subject: Re: Noosa Springs Boutique Hotel
Dear Councillors
I hope this email finds you well.
I am writing to provide you the latest progress in our pursuit of approval for the Noosa Springs hotel project.
We are acutely aware that the councillors have concerns around the number of local residents that have raised concerns
by way of a formal objection. As you would be aware in applications like this, you only ever hear from those who are not
in favour. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the community’s stance on the proposed application, we have taken
this time to conduct a formal survey. This has allowed those who have not yet had an opportunity to participate to
provide feedback. As of now, nearly 200 residents have participated in the survey. The results have been
overwhelmingly positive, with over 70% expressing either full support of the proposed development or no objection to
its approval. Over 75% of respondents have given their consent to disclose their names and survey results to council.
We intend to include this information as part of our final submissions in the coming weeks.
Furthermore, I am pleased to inform you that the Noosa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) has conveyed its
endorsement for our project, further demonstrating the substantial support it enjoys within the community. Enclosed
herewith is a copy of the supportive letter from NCCI for your reference.
This endorsement bolsters our resolve to secure your approval for our development application. It is worth emphasizing
that Council's Development Assessment Manager has thoroughly considered the zoning and stated, "The current
mapped Recreation and Open Zone, was a consequence of it not being adequately demonstrated, at the time it was
created, that further encroachment would not result in amenity impacts on guests of a resort."
In alignment with NCC’s view point, we echo the sentiment from NCCI that planning scheme should be a directional
document rather than a restrictive document and, when applications are considered, social, environmental and
economic benefits should be taken into account.
We appreciate your ongoing attention to our project. Should you have any queries or require further information
regarding our proposal, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Warm regards
