GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING 14 AUGUST 2023
• The number of customer requests has decreased slightly in this quarter following trends of
previous years.
• The average wait time for customers who contact the call centre has decreased this quarter.
Our Finances
• Rate arrears are in line with performance for the previous 6 and 12 monthly cycles however
they remain slightly above the preferred target.
• Council’s working capital ratio remains above 2 supporting Council’s strong liquidity position.
Our Systems and Processes
• The use of online services continues to increase however there are some fluctuations which
do occur in various months.
3. CLOSED SESSION ITEMS
At the request of Councillors, this part of the report identifies whether or not there have been any
matters dealt with in confidential session within Council or Committee meetings which have
subsequently been made public. There were five (5) reports in this quarter.

Quarterly reports are provided to Council outlining our progress with the Operational Plan.

That Council note the report by the Chief Executive Officer to the General Committee Meeting dated
15 May 2023 regarding the 2022-23 Operational Plan and:
A.Note the progress report for the Q3 2022-2023 Operational Plan to 31 March 2023 provided as
Attachment 1; and
B.Note the status of Council's Key Performance Indicators provided as Attachment 2.
Finance
The projects within the Operational Plan are reviewed and funded as part of Council’s annual budget
process.
Risk & Opportunities
A failure to achieve the outcomes set out in the Operational Plan would be problematic. In some
cases, projects may take longer than anticipated to achieve the best outcome. While the majority
of initiatives have been completed, the progress of initiatives marked 'behind schedule' and 'on track'
have been re-evaluated, some initiatives have been identified as continuing e.g. implementation of
the Environment Strategy and incorporated in the development of the new 2023-24 Operational Plan
and Budget. Potential risks include:
