On Track Ongoing Initiative
Collaboration with Unity Water continues to improve water billing transparency and identify efficiency opportunities around smart metering and other key initiatives. External independent audit support is being assessed to provide independent validation of water and sewerage charges and identify potential savings for council. Small site meter optimisation is underway with council’s contracted retailer and will deliver smart meter visibility to support future energy efficiency initiatives and improved utility management, with completion expected by mid-2029. Rectification works across Council's self-generated energy assets have delivered strong outcomes, significantly improving system performance and reliability. The program has successfully transitioned these assets from a capital improvement focus to an ongoing operational maintenance model, supporting sustainable energy generation while minimising future capital expenditure requirements.
