On Track Ongoing Initiative

Key departments have engaged Business Improvement Officers to work with the ICT counterparts in identifying efficiencies, potential system upgrades, and new system requirements. To support long-term organisational capability, fourteen Council staff across the business participated in business analysis training, equipping staff with improved skills to identify business improvement opportunities, define requirements more effectively and support change initiatives across the organisation. Council also commenced a review of its Customer Relationship Management (CRM) capabilities to identify opportunities to improve customer experience, streamline service delivery and strengthen integration across business processes with short-, medium- and long-term opportunities identified. During the quarter, Council progressed a number of strategic improvement activities, including information management enhancements, cyber security uplift initiatives, business systems optimisation, and improvements to data and reporting capabilities. The CEO has commenced a review of the organisational design to ensure it remains aligned with Council's strategic priorities, community expectations, statutory responsibilities and future workforce needs, including a review of executive portfolios, accountability and functional alignment to ensure the organisation is well positioned to meet future challenges.
