Ecological Assessment Report v1 NCES REF: J001061

The understorey contained Gahnia aspera (sawsedge), Lomandra multiflora (club rush), Parsonsia
straminea (monkey rope), Imperata cylindrica (blady grass), Cordyline rubra (palm lily), and
Pteridium esculentum (bracken fern).
VC3 is considered representative of an Ecologically Important Area under the NC Planning Scheme
(refer light blue shading VC01). Plate 13 depicts typical vegetation within VC3.

Plate 13 – VC3 – Open Eucalypt forest with shrubby understorey

4.3.4 Vegetation Community 4 – Maintained lawn and pasture with scattered mature trees
         & orchard areas
VC4 comprises the onsite golf course land use onsite hosting mature tree windbreaks and several
orchards alongside the 18 hole golf course greens, fairways and adjacent pasture areas. The mature
tree species present lining the fairways and in scattered windbreaks included Eucalyptus tereticornis
(Queensland blue gum), Melaleuca spp., Grevilia robusta (silky oak), Casuarina glauca (swamp
sheoak), and Brachychiton acerifolius (flame tree).
It should be noted that VC4 contained several mature Eucalyptus tereticornis (Queensland Blue
gum) to approximately 30-35m in height (refer Plate 14b). Mature tree locations have been depicted
by green linework on VC01.
Although VC4 did contain native plant species, it is not considered representative of an Ecologically
Important Area under the NC Planning Scheme (refer yellow shading VC01). However, the mature
eucalypt trees depicted on VC02 are individually considered representative of an Ecologically
Important Area (green linework on VC01). Plate 14a depicts typical vegetation within VC4.
