INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 15 SEPTEMBER 2015

There has been continued growth of green waste garden bin service due to the expansion into
country areas of Cooroy, Pomona, Cooran and Boreen Point. The ongoing discussion of organic
waste recycling by the Community Jury has also prompted interest in the service.
Waste Management are continuing to work with Council’s contractor, Cleanaway to reconcile bin
numbers and service data as Council moves towards a drafting a new contract.

Graph showing total number of waste service requests 2014-15FY.
The graph below depicts the number of requests received per month, from July 2014 to June
2015. This represents a total of 5,080 requests. The spike in the graph for October 2014 is
attributed to a media request by Waste Management for the public to report broken wheelie bins
or lids so that free replacements could be arranged by Council.
