6.2.2        Pool Noise Assessment
The pool design has changed since the last iteration of the acoustic report (Trinity Report
207401.0104.R01V04, dated 19 September 2022). However, the removal of one hotel building (refer to
Figure 3.1) has the potential of increase noise levels at R1 (refer to Figure 2.1) due to reduced noise
shielding. The sound power levels of expected swimming activity are based on Trinity’s noise source database
and are as follows:
◼   Group of 10 people swimming                                            55 dBA
◼   Group of 20 people speaking with a ‘loud’ voice                        84 dBA
◼   Group of 50 people speaking with a ‘loud’ voice                        88 dBA
◼   Group of 13 people speaking with a ‘loud’ voice                        81 dBA
The previous iteration of the model focuses on the worst case scenario of a group of 50 people speaking with
a loud voice. To provide a more realistic noise result, the noise source was split into 4 different groups of 13
people speaking with a loud voice. Each noise source was assigned to 1 of the 4 pools. The figure below
illustrates the change made to the model:

The noise emission results are shown in Table 6.4.

From the results presented in Table 6.4, all pool activity sources are predicted to comply at residential
sensitive receivers R1, R2 and R3 with the day and evening noise limits.
It is noted that the resort operators will need to manage pool noise onto the subject development itself, as is
normal resort practice, and this impact will be greater than any offsite noise impacts.

6.2.3        Carpark Activity
The proposed development will include additional car parking spaces to the west of the site (above an existing
carpark) and two smaller car parks in the east of the site (for overflow purposes). Existing carparks on site
