A resolution to adopt these lists will allow Council to engage with these sole or specialised
suppliers in a more timely and effective manner than if inviting quotes or tenders.

Previous Council Consideration

The Sunshine Coast Regional Council created and adopted Sole and Specialised Supplier Lists
in July 2013. Given the recency of this resolution, these lists were used as the basis for the
establishment of Noosa Council’s Sole and Specialised Supplier lists.

Finance & Risk

There is a risk associated with legislative compliance, should Council not resolve to create the
listings and subsequently fails to undertake the quote or tender process. Establishing sole and
specialised supplier lists reduces Council’s risk of breaching regulations relating to establishing
medium and large sized contracts.

Nil.

Internal Consultation

The existing Sole and Specialised Supplier lists were distributed to all Departments and Sections
for review. Those suppliers no longer relevant for use by Noosa Council were removed and a
small number of new suppliers were assessed as meeting the definition of sole or specialised
and were added to the lists.
